Dr Kabban joined the UIB Group in the mid-1970s after gaining a PhD in Economics and Law. He has travelled extensively around the world, using his fluency in Arabic, English and French to help promote UIB as a leading international broker. In serving the corporate interests of UIB’s worldwide client base, Dr Kabban upholds the principle that "the client is king".

One of the founders of UIB, Bassem became managing director of UIB in January 1998 and applies his wealth of experience on the intricacies of insurance broking, multi-faceted knowledge of the insurance business and negotiating skills for the benefit of clients. He maintains in-depth expertise in marine cargo, aviation, energy, liability and property insurances, including claims negotiation. He has also lectured on aspects of marine insurance, particularly on oil movements, to audiences in many countries. He was born in Dhahran and raised in Lebanon. He speaks Arabic fluently and has working knowledge of Japanese.

A former Managing Director of Willis Corroon Aerospace, Philip was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the UIB Group in January 2001. With over 25 years experience in the aviation and aerospace insurance market, he has a proven track record of innovation and strategic development, with wide experience of systems, compliance, management and product development.

George is a Post Graduate of the University of Southern California and majored in Finance and Marketing. He joined UIB in October 1987 and was one of the founders of UIB’s Offshore Division. Previously, he had been with Marsh & McLennan - Los Angeles’ International Property & Casualty Department and was involved in the handling of California based multinationals.

George is an expert in Well Control insurance and is one of the few insurance practitioners who has actually had first hand well control experience in post liberated Kuwait when he observed and worked with a specialist well control team on several wells out of control. He has authored, lectured and conducted Non-Technical Well Control Seminars in London and Internationally.

George is fluent in English, Arabic and French.

Misbah is a founding member of United Insurance Brokers Ltd (1987) and a Director of UIB Holdings (UK) Ltd, London.  A graduate of the University Of Wales, Swansea (1967) and the City University Business School, London (1977).

He started his insurance career with the National Insurance Company in Iraq (1968-1977) where he had assumed underwriting and claim management responsibilities first in the Fire & Accident and later in the Engineering Department.  He joined Marsh & McLennan Middle East Ltd in 1978 as an account executive for industrial and energy programmes in the Arab world and Europe.

Span of knowledge and expertise covers many classes of insurance, utilised by colleagues in the Energy, Engineering & Construction and Non Marine Divisions and used to service the insurance needs of corporate clients.  He is involved in co-ordination of insurance programmes, analysis and consultancy to clients and training clients' insurance personnel.

Misbah is fluent in Arabic and English.

He has contributed to insurance seminars in the Arab world and the compilation of an English-Arabic dictionary of insurance terms, co-translated to Arabic a book on risk management and published articles in Arab insurance journals.

Director & Head of the Energy Division, UIB London

Gary started his insurance broking career in the London market in 1965.  Gary’s long established expertise covers all aspects of construction and engineering insurance, having been involved in the handling of multi-billion dollar projects.  Major corporate clients consult him on insurance related issues.  His knowledge and practical skills extend to the handling of complex problem-claims, policy wording and negotiation with clients, insurers/reinsurers, lenders, legal advisors and loss adjusters.

He has been intensely involved in handling energy, construction and related risks in various parts of the world including Asia, Europe, the Middle East & North Africa and Latin America. 

Gary is highly regarded by leading underwriters in the onshore construction market for his contribution to this sector over the last 40 years.

Gary has been a Board Director since 1987.

 

Keith joined UIB in December 2009 and brings 24 years financial services experience within global organisations, including Barclays plc and GE Capital.

Prior to joining UIB Keith held senior finance positions in the insurance broking sector, most recently as chief finance officer of Willis Global Specialties and previously as CFO of AON Risk Services UK.

Keith is a chartered accountant having begun his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and holds a BA (Hons) in Industrial Economics from Nottingham University.

Paul is Company Secretary and Financial Accountant for the UIB family of companies.
